Vintage Cheddar Cheese - 200G

Cheddar cheese is a relatively hard, off-white, and with maturity increasingly sharp-tasting, natural cheese. Originating in the English village of Cheddar in Somerset, cheeses of this style are now produced beyond the region and in several countries around the world, amongst them Ireland. Irish cheddar cheese is made from Irish milk, which comes from Irish cows that eat Irish grass and drink Irish water.

They live in the environment of Ireland, its wind, its sun and its rain. All of these factors affect the flavour of the milk which is used to produce this cheese. Since cheese is a natural product, Ireland has an impact on its flavour as it ages and ripens. The wild yeasts, the weather, the people, and their dedication to their art all work to create a Mature Cheddar Cheese unique to Ireland.

Flagship Mature Cheddar is similar to its white cousin but contains an additive called annatto, which is a natural plant-based colour from a South American plant. Ingredients: pasteurised cows milk, salt, starter culture, non-animal rennet. Allergens: Cows Milk Flagship Mature Cheddar is gluten-free, available in 200g blocks and produced in Ireland.
